Our Commitment
Technology will continue changing the way we dance.
Our responsibility is making sure it always strengthens the people who make dance communities extraordinary.
Dance has always been about people.
Teachers who generously share their knowledge.
DJs who create unforgettable nights.
Organizers who bring communities together.
Photographers and videographers who preserve moments we never want to lose.
Judges who protect excellence.
Volunteers who quietly make every event possible.
Students who courageously take their first steps.
Friends who become family.
These people are the heart of every dance community.
Technology should never replace them. It should quietly help them do what they already do best.
That belief has become one of Sojourn's guiding principles.
Section One
Our Philosophy
Technology should quietly strengthen the people who make this community extraordinary.
Never compete with them.
Never replace them.
Never diminish the relationships that make partner dancing so meaningful.
When technology disappears into the background, people become the focus again.
That is the future we are building.
Section Two
Our Standing Principle
Every significant feature developed for Sojourn will be evaluated against one simple question:
Does this strengthen the people who make our community thrive?
If the answer is no… we go back.
No feature should diminish the role of:
- Teachers.
- DJs.
- Organizers.
- Photographers.
- Videographers.
- Judges.
- Volunteers.
- Champions.
- Community leaders.
Or the human relationships that make dancing special. Technology exists to amplify these people. Never replace them.
Section Three
The Founding Stewardship Council
As Sojourn grows, we believe its direction should not be guided by technology alone. It should be guided by the people who have dedicated their lives to serving this community.
To help protect that vision, we are forming the Founding Stewardship Council — respected voices representing the many perspectives that make partner dancing extraordinary.
Potential representation
- Teaching & Education
- Competition & Judging
- Music & DJs
- Event Organization
- Photography & Videography
- Community Leadership
- New Dancer Perspective
Additional roles will naturally grow alongside the community.
The council's responsibility is not to approve features.
Its responsibility is to protect the culture.
To ask difficult questions. To challenge assumptions. To ensure Sojourn always strengthens the dance community rather than replacing the people who make it special.

Know Someone We Should Meet?
Great communities are built by people who quietly make them better. If someone comes to mind as you read this page…
- A teacher.
- A DJ.
- An organizer.
- A photographer.
- A judge.
- A volunteer.
- A mentor.
- Or simply someone who consistently helps others feel welcome…
We'd love for you to share this with them.
